BEST BURGERS AROUND !!! Hot dogs too. always clean and the food is very fresh. like 60's burger places. Eat there or take out. Yummy!!!

We got nothing like this on the East Coast. The hot dogs here are awful. I miss the taste of a Happy Dog.

Food quality is fine, but about 25% more than what you might expect for this fare. The customer service leaves much to be desired. If you don't care to get the order right and don't care when I ask you about my messed up order why would I want you to take the don't care attitude back to the grill for another round?

I absolutely love this place! I hadn't been here in 25 years or so but have many fond memories as a child stopping by 4 a hot dog and a shake it was quite nostalgic and drummed up a bunch of positive memories from childhood. Usually trips to the DMV are not my favorite but as I having to drive past Happy Hound while driving home it made that trip much more pleasant.

Best hot dog place......

Great classic fast food joint for hot dogs, burgers, and shakes (now offering tater tots). Order and eat inside or on patio, or park and order at outside window for to go. Prices are very reasonable and hot dogs are big. Onion rings beer battered, not at all greasy. Shakes tasty. Recommended.

Love a Happy Hound now for 43 years! My favorite place for french fries, too, because they will always make them to order.

I found happy hound way beck in the late 80's early 90's after graduating from leigh high school. I started out by working there and then it became a habit. I had to eat there no matter what. Happy hound is where I got my start with burgers. I've tried tons of other burger places, even really expensive ones that claim the best burger. No one compares. I always get a medium rare swiss burger only, light sauce with sauteed mushrooms. You have to throw in the fries and a shake with it. I have brought others there who wind up living the place as well. I now live in another state but every time I come to California I go to happy hound. You won't regret going if you never have. The service is spot on perfect as well. So if your looking for that perfect burger then your search is over. Happy hound is your one stop place for everything burger and dogs.

Simple and classic burger/hot dog joint. The food may be simple but done right. My burger was lightly under seasoned but it was delicious! My husband got the Mexiburger, which is basically a mushroom cheeseburger chopped up with onions and tomatoes inside a tortilla and rolled into a burrito. He also ordered a cherry malt. Can't have burgers and not have fries! Crispy fries, lightly salted.

Hot Dogs in San Jose? Yeaaaa. This is the go to place. The burger's are the best too. Except if your looking to lose weight!!!!

Been going here since the mid 60's. Originally the building was an orange juliess. Prices are in line with the time value of money. Quality has been consistent all these years.

Only disappointments were banana milkshake wasn't made with real bananas, hot dog "sqweeks" when you bight into it & it cost $1.10 to add cheese to a hotdog!

It tasted just like it did 30 years ago, the service was fast and polite, i just hope it doesn't take another 30 years.

Snappy dogs, good toppings and solid shakes. It's great for grab and go, though their fries aren't the greatest. I do like their rings though.

Quick, inexpensive, and delicious! Milkshakes here are top notch. I also recommend the chili cheese dog. They don't skimp on toppings! Parking is super tight, but it's easy to park in the neighborhood and walk in.

Took my neighbors kids they did not want to leave very good burgers and hotdogs they loved the milkshakes !On the way home they asked if we could go back everyday!!!!!

Our Families first time here. Ordered burgers, fries and onion rings. Everything came out great. Family really enjoyed it. I heard the dogs here are exceptional. We'll be back to give them a try.

I had driven by this place for over 10-years and was always planning to stop sometime but never had. I finally was nearby running an errand and had the chance to stop for lunch. I can confirm that they have great hot dogs that are made on demand. There are multiple options and toppings to chose from and the place is quite busy during meal hours. Next time I am running an errand in the area I will be sure to stop again.

Yup, it’s as delicious as they say. Only thing is that they seem to be overwhelmed at times, between fulfilling online orders and working down the inevitable queue that forms during meal times. It’s worth being patient and showing some gratitude for this meal regardless, because it’s that tasty.

What are one of the best burgers in all of Silicon Valley. Great local spot. Usually very busy. Limited seating inside and out. Excellent burgers. Good dogs. A classic Los Gatos locals spot.

A classic, and still a top 5 burger in the bay area

This is a small hamburger joint nearby plenty of fast food chains in the neighborhood.I was somewhat disappointed that the hamburger patty was not fresh, it was somewhat brown. It tasted fine. The fries was really good and a huge portion for small.

Dating back many years when my Mom used to take me, this is just one of those places that does things right, which is obvious from the ever-present queue. Any visit to Los Gatos should include this charming spot with cravable food and proactive service. I have yet to have anything but a five star experience and hope you do, too!

The burger was okay nothing ground breaking and the fries even though they were from a bag were better than burger KING. The hound dog was better than Costco hot dog's. But horseradish would've been better if it was fresh because it was dry.Try it for your self and see what you think. Peace out

We like a lot hanging out. Yesterday we arrived in this magnificent place which we didn’t know before. We passed a lovely time there with very good meal and a professional team and a distinguished chief cook. We added this fine restaurant in our list and we will no doubt come back soon. We warmly recommend.
